Enzo Ferrari intended everybody to dream about having one of his cars and the people from Ferrari’s design and personalization department keeping the dream alive with the latest in the line of beautiful creations. The special and classy 2015 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta was built with one thing in mind and that is to honor the victory of Belgian racing team Ecurie Nationale Belge in the GT category of the 1964 Tour de France Automobile.
The team led it’s victory run in a silver 250 GTO with a Modena yellow stripe across its hood, that was driven by Lucien Bianchi and Georges Berger as his co-driver. The 2015 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta’s 200-bar, direct-injection 6262 cc 65° V12 delivers absolutely unprecedented performance for a naturally aspirated 12-cylinder engine in terms of both power and revs.
It has a maximum power output of 740 CV at 8250 rpm, while its specific power output is 118 CV/l, a record for this kind of engine. Responsiveness and strong pick-up are assured by maximum torque of 690 Nm, 80 per cent of which is already on tap at 2500 rpm.
The guys from Ferrari are focusing on fuel consumption, emissions and efficiency both of which have been slashed by 30% to 15l/100 km and 350 g/km of CO2, making the 2015 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta a benchmark for its reference segment.
This beautiful 2015 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta honoring a Beligum race victory is also called the Tour de France 64 and was displayed for the first time at the 2015 Dream Cars Show in Brussels, Belgium. The lucky buyers can can choose a Berlinetta with a silver body, and the name of the hue is as fancy as it gets and its called Argento Auteil. The yellow stripe running across the hood and front fenders is also present.
When it comes to the interior its really mostly black, and the design experts choose a tobacco-colored leather that brings out that vintage look even more. The car is also packed with some contemporary and advanced materials including SuperFabric. Ferrari describes this special fabric as a bulletproof material with a 3D texture and can be found on the floor mats and trunk lining. Finally, while the roof liner is made up of a soft material called Mycro Prestige and is both water-repellent and breathable.
No changes have been made under the hood, which means that Ferrari offers a stock 6.3-liter V-12 that cranks up the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta horsepower to a massive 729 and 508 pound-feet of torque. The drive is to the rear wheels only, via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, and owners can expect 0-60 mph acceleration in 3.1 seconds and a top speed in excess of 211 mph.
