Hyundai is a favorite choice among people with medium income… How come? Well the Korean automaker has a fine tradition in building cars that are cheaper than it’s rivals, but still bring class and leisure to it’s customers. With this said, they did a complete redesign to the 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport, and unlike previous makeovers, they did it all around this time.
The seventh generation is really a new 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport and it stands proud side by side in the mid-size sedan ring with the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. The South Koreans are moving up in the ranks and this new example, from Hyundai, is the best yet. This week we are test driving the sporty Hyundai Sonata Sport 2.0T.
Panoramic Sunroof and Much More
Everything on the 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport is redesigned for 2015 and it comes with a new exterior look and a larger cabin. The Sport 2.0T trim level drops some horsepower and torque is less too than the outgoing model.
Let’s start off with the pricing, the 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport 2.0T is around $28,575 and if you are in the mood for an Ultimate Package it will cost you additional $4,950.
The features or better said the upgrades include drivers memory seat and mirrors, power passenger seat, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, navigation, Infinity speakers, LED Hyundai Sonata interior 2015 lighting as well as a panoramic sunroof. On the outside it’s filled with sensors that will aid the driver. These include forward collision warning, rear parking assist, lane departure warning which brings it to a total MSRP $34,460 including destination.
Standard features included in the Hyundai Sonata interior 2015 are also steering wheel paddle shifters, HID headlamps, three-bar sport grille, sport front bumper cover, rear diffuser, quad chrome-tipped exhausts, 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels and leather-wrapped, D-shaped steering wheel.
Over the years Hyundai’s middle class has improved a lot and with that we can say that the interior of the new 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport got it’s well deserved soft touch materials and the quality that has very much improved.
The Sport 2.0T features sport seats, a new redesigned instrument panel for easy scan and legibility. The Sport’s steering wheel has a flattened bottom, the kind you see in sports cars, something the 2015 Hyundai Sonata Sport is not. The navigation system that is optional is operated through an 8-inch touchscreen. The rear seats come standard with 60/40-split-folding if the need arises to add more cargo capacity.
Engine and Fuel Mileage Specs
The Sport 2.0T hides a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 245 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. This is a bit surprising because the previous model has a mightier engine at 274 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. The 2.0-liter turbo engine comes mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
Surprisingly enough we can conclude that the new Hyndai is definitely not a sports 2015 Hyundai Sonata sedan, but it is an improvement from previous installments. Sport model comes with a tuned sport suspension and steering and a more rigid chassis that features lowered interior noise and improved driving dynamics.
The bottom line is that the fine 2015 Hyundai Sonata 2.0T is a comfortable, a quieter and more polished version than the previous generation.
