Mercedes does wonders with it’s 2-door cars and besides magic it uses just only the groundbreaking technology and smooth design. While the SLK 55 AMG had a powerful cylinder deactivation in order to make its V8 way more efficient, the SL-Class was made for ultimate comfort so that the driver can enjoy every second of the ride despite the top being down.
In just a couple of weeks we begin a new year, and with it comes a new coupe that is a fine combination of power and aesthetics we’ve seen on a large car. The new S63 AMG Coupe, is a monstrously beautiful car with cult status.
The S-Class Coupe is based on the sedan and has been designed as a direct replacement for the old CL. Both 2-door and 4-door have similar design, but the coupe has a longer bonnet, sloped roof and a spoiler integrated into the boot.
The car’s official title is the 2015 mercedes s63 amg 4matic. You can definitively call it a S63 AMG sedan cousin. The diference is that the new S63 AMG Coupe will be coming with 4MATIC all-wheel drive as standard in the U.S. while other markets will have a rear-wheel-drive version as standard.
AMG’s version of 4MATIC features a 33-67 front-rear torque split, offering the rear-biased feel we all love but with the added traction of all-wheel drive when roads get slippery.
Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe offers a fine mixure of luxury and performance, and Mercedes doesn’t fool around when you see under the hood. A AMG 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine developing 430 kW (585 hp) and 900 Nm of torque, and can be ordered with performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. It also gets something called curve tilting function, part of the MAGIC BODY CONTROL suspension system, to further enhance both driving pleasure and comfort.
This is a fast exotic car that’s been conceived in a totally different way than a Lamborghini, with a clearer focus on refinement. The cabin is said to be the quietest in the whole Mercedes range (but not with the AMG V8, obviously), while the headlight daytime running lights and indicators may be ordered with Swarovski crystals that help produce a clearer light.
In America, the S63 AMG Coupe will be sold from $160,900 with standard all-wheel drive. Power comes from a familiar 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine making 577 hp. 0 to 60 mph takes only 3.9 seconds – blink and you’ll miss it.
The S63 AMG Coupe has even something more than power and luxury. It’s fallen into the hands of American wheel specialists Forgiato, who fitted it with a set of their aluminum alloy Fondare-ECL wheels. They have a brushed look and sharp edges befitting the exotic Merc.
Pricing and availability for the 2015 mercedes s63 amg 4matic Coupe will be announced closer to the car’s sales launch this fall. With the S63 AMG sedan commanding a pricetag of $140,425
