Infiniti Concept Car: Infiniti Vision Gran Turismo Supercar

Infiniti Concept Car: Infiniti Vision Gran Turismo Supercar

Infiniti is one of the major car manufacturers to have come up with an impressive concept car in the Gran Turismo video game series…

…with the Japanese brand’s concept, the Infiniti Concept Vision Gran Turismo.

This concept was having its virtual debut late last year.

And during the Shanghai Auto Show 2015 that was held last month, Infiniti rolled out a real-world model, from which you will find photos presented here.

This concept, and some others similar to it, was developed as part of Gran Turismo’s Vision challenge…

…which is celebrating the 15th anniversary of this popular video game.

The challenge came by the game’s creator Kazunori Yamauchi, who requested design studios from all across the globe to come up with the car that will be perfect for the game.

The concept car started as a design contest among Infiniti’s global design studios, and it ended with the team in Beijing taking the winning place.

Infiniti reports that there is a wide range of Chinese influences in the design, like the delicate gradation of the body and the fluid movement, said to have been inspired by traditional Chinese calligraphy and landscape paintings.

This Infiniti’s concept come in the form of a front mid-engine supercar:

having the proportions and some of the design elements similar to those of parent company Nissan’s own concept designed for Gran Turismo.

However, this is not simply some wild flight of fancy as it is a vision or an idea of what a high-performance Infiniti might look like in the future, the car maker informs us.

Remember that before to quitting the top post at Infiniti, Johan de Nysschen said the car maker was looking at two new range-topping models:

A more sport-oriented model with only two doors;

And a sleek four-door coupe.

The Q80 Inspiration concept revealed at the 2014 Paris Auto Show obviously suggests at the four-door coupe, and maybe the new Infiniti Concept Vision Gran Turismo hints at the sporty model.

The concept is presently available for download in Gran Turismo 6 on Sony’s PlayStation 3.
